What did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a little girl, I dreamed big dreams for my future. Everything from a pilot to a race car driver, to Wonder Woman saving the world, and of course saving all the cats and dogs in it. I was not your typical girl, I was a tomboy. I grew up in the country with wide open spaces and plenty of room for my big dreams and my horse to take me there. I didn't have a perfect life, no one does. But, I had the basics, family, a roof over my head and food on the table. Plus, if you ask me, growing up in the country was the best gift a kid could ever have. So, in that I was rich and had lots of love to grow on. As I got older, my dreams may have changed some, but they still were big. I still wanted to be Wonder Woman, only packing a gun. I was a sharp shooter (killed targets not cute fuzzy animals) at an early age and I was often called Annie Oakley by my family. So, it was no surprise to anyone when I joined the Air Force right out of high school.  No one could have told me I would have stayed for 26 years, it went by so fast...I can't even express how fast it went. My military service is one of the things I am most proud of. I may not have become Wonder Woman, but I did my best impression. I didn't just do a job, I served my county with honor. More than that, I volunteered helping the homeless...animal and human alike and I am still doing that today. Helping others less fortunate than yourself is a wonderful gift to yourself, not just to those on the receiving end. I have been blessed with a wonderful life that allowed me to see the world, make life long friends, get an education and I did what I could to make our small part of the world a better place. Most importantly, I never gave up and succeeded at many things. I give credit to my very determined, stubborn hold on like a pit bull nature. No, my life didn't turn out exactly as I had planned, not even close. I don't think anyone's life goes as planned. But that doesn't mean you have to give up on your dreams. Never give up, never stop trying to be the best YOU you can be. Because even if your life didn't go as you had planned, it doesn't mean you can't or won't succeed. Keep at it, pick yourself up and keep moving forward, helping others along the way. Life is too short to waste time stuck wallowing in past mistakes or losses. The past is gone, tomorrow is a new day people!
God Bless!
