Description

I set up the this shot in remembrance of an old friend who died of cancer today (Aug 11, 2014).  Michael looked out for me when I was a kid and he did his level best to shelter me from the ugly side of life (including his own darkness), though I wasn't oblivious to it.  He was a talented musician with enormous potential who could brighten a room just by walking into it.  But, he had demons (drugs) and he made poor choices that sent him in a long slow downward spiral.   His choices, I am certain, did not help this outcome.  I pray he is at peace now and just like the umbrella in my photo, I hope he has finally found shelter from the storm that was his life.  Godspeed my dear friend, you were loved.

  I'm first sorry for getting over here a little late in seeing this image and the meaning associated with it!!

  I am extremely sorry to hear about the death of your dear friend like this Sheri as he sounds like a truly superb person in so many way!! :cry:
  Sorry to hear about the bad choices too as my best friend from when I was very young eventually died pretty much in the same way!! :(

  Anyway ... very touching story and thanks for sharing this with all of us!! :huggle: ~Lee
